Parcel Dashboard
Terms of Service
Last updated: October 17, 2026
These terms describe the permitted use and limitations of Parcel Dashboard, a private, personal-use application operated by Maikel van Riet to organize parcel deliveries from a Gmail inbox.
Parcel Dashboard is a personal tool, not a public delivery service. Connect only a Gmail account you are authorized to use, keep the application in a private environment, and check important delivery information with the relevant merchant or carrier.
Scope and permitted use
Parcel Dashboard is intended for its owner's personal and household use. It is not offered as a public service and does not support multiple user accounts. Publishing these terms or the project description does not grant access to the private application.
Use the application only if you understand and agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not connect a Gmail account or use the application. These terms concern Parcel Dashboard itself, not general use of the portfolio website that hosts this page.
Gmail authorization
Connect only a Gmail account that you own or are authorized to access. Grant access through Google's OAuth authorization flow; do not provide your Google password directly to Parcel Dashboard.
The application requests Gmail read-only access to identify shipment-related messages and extract delivery details. It does not use that permission to send, edit, or delete Gmail messages. Details of the data accessed, stored, and used are described in the Privacy Policy linked below.
Responsible use and security
You are responsible for protecting the device, local runtime environment, credentials, OAuth tokens, and database used to operate your instance of the application.
The current local API does not include user authentication and must not be exposed directly to the public internet. Do not use the application to access another person's mailbox without authorization, bypass security controls, or process data for unlawful purposes.
Delivery information and accuracy
Parcel Dashboard extracts information from email using rules that can miss messages or interpret them incorrectly. Tracking numbers, carrier names, expected dates, and delivery statuses may be incomplete, inaccurate, or out of date. Marking a parcel as delivered in the dashboard records a local action; it does not confirm delivery with a carrier.
Treat the dashboard as an organizational aid, not as the authoritative record of an order or delivery. Check time-sensitive information and resolve delivery questions directly with the merchant or carrier. Parcel Dashboard does not transport parcels, arrange deliveries, or handle claims on behalf of carriers or merchants.
Third-party services and links
Gmail access depends on Google's services, account permissions, and applicable terms. Google may change or restrict its services independently of Parcel Dashboard.
Tracking links may open merchant or carrier websites. Those services are operated independently and apply their own terms and privacy policies. Parcel Dashboard is an independent personal project, not an official service of Google, a merchant, or a parcel carrier.
Availability and limitations
Parcel Dashboard is a personal project provided as available. There is no promised uptime, support response time, or guarantee that every shipment will be detected or that the application will always be error-free. Features and integrations may change as the project develops.
Keep original order and shipment emails and any other records you need independently of the dashboard. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.
Stopping use and stored data
You can stop using the application at any time. To stop future Gmail access, revoke Parcel Dashboard's access in your Google Account settings and delete the locally stored OAuth token.
Revoking Gmail access does not delete data already stored by the application. Local records must be removed separately, as explained in the Privacy Policy. Marking a shipment as delivered or ignored does not delete its underlying stored record or the original Gmail message.
Changes to these terms
These terms may be revised to reflect changes to the application's features, integrations, or operating model. The date at the top identifies the latest revision. Review the terms before using an updated version; if you do not agree with a revision, stop using the application.
